Great ideas. I too hang most of my fabrics using hangers made to hang several pair of pants. This optionizes my space and keeps 'collections' together. The fabric is easily removed and replaced as necessary.
Also, when fabric is brought home I serge the cut edges and then wash and dry. I can immediately tell if the fabric has been washed when I use it some time later. Saves on my memory. As for smaller amounts, 1/2 yard or so, I fold it in a small rectangle, placing smaller pieces on top, and then roll up into a small roll. Then store the rolls in one of those canvas shoe hangers that hang from the closet rack. They have about 6/8 compartments and allow rolls to be sorted by color, etc.

Hi, thanks for your terrific blog. The fabric looks great hanging there but I would like to know how you store you smaller pieces and applique pieces.
I am always looking for suggestions to tidy up my "stash".
Loved your hoop holder too.
Thanks for sharing

I just love this hoop storage idea. I bought a double tier file cart at Staples for $49 with a 20% coupon that I plan on using for my Go dies, too. May I ask where you found the cute clown design?

So glad to have found your website. Thank you so much for the wonderful idea and instructions for the hoop trolley. I am going to Officeworks and see if I can buy the trolley. When I have more time I am going to come back to your website and have a closer look for some your workshops. I live in Brisbane. In the cyber world we are just neighbours. I too cannot work efficiently unless I am organised.

I couldn't agree more with your ideas! There are plenty of good quality fabrics for good prices all over the Internet, and its great that you're promoting the recycling of unwanted fabric from upholstery stores and sewing factories! I look forward to more informative posts like this one!
